January 2010 saw a transformation at the Fox and Hounds with the old Harry's Bar and front bar areas being ripped out and replaced with a designated restaurant. The "snug" as it was affectionately called became a lounge area and the back room was turned into the bar.

With ever decreasing drinking trade we decided the time was right to make these changes and now we can accommodate 50 people in the one area. With the construction of a glass roofed cover over the patio due to be finished late autumn this number will be increased. Our menus are slightly different, but we still offer homemade dishes made to order using quality local ingredients including herbs and vegetables from our own garden. We have fresh fish delivered daily and so our well known and much loved "deep fried Cod in beer batter" is still on the menu. Our meat is delivered daily from a butcher we have traded with for over 20 years and all our desserts and ice creams are made on the premises by John and Darren.

Special offers are always available such as our current one which is, 2 course lunch for just £10.00 per person and 3 course dinner for £15.00 per person. This offer runs Tuesday - Friday, but we do ask people to book. Weekend breaks are available @ £39.95 per person per night for 2 nights when sharing a double or twin room. The rate includes dinner on both nights, accommodation and breakfast.

The Fox and Hounds is located in the beautiful village of Llancarfan in the picturesque Vale of Glamorgan. Here you will enjoy the peace and tranquillity of village life and the abundance of natural beauty that surrounds it. This former Welsh longhouse offers comfortable accommodation, exceptional food and a good choice of fine ales and wines all under one welcoming roof.

Step outside to discover the very best of this incredible area. Wales is famed for its myths and legends that speak of the mists of dragon’s breath, Arthur and Guinevere, the Lady of the Lake and more. Here in Llancarfan you will find much mystery and history to uncover. Famed for the Church of St. Cadog that was established in about AD 515, it is a very important area for discovering much about the religious history of both Wales and Great Britain.

There is of course much more to this rich landscape than elderly buildings with stories to tell. The nature in this part of Wales is rich and varied, with a countryside that is criss-crossed by scenic walks that open your eyes to an incredible array of wildlife, flora and fauna. For nature lovers, this may be paradise found.

You can join the Llancarfan Circular walk that ensures you get to see all the beautiful attractions. This walk will take you through the most interesting parts of the Vale and leave you filled with the sights, smells and sounds of nature at her finest. Some of the features you will come across during this walk include, the Church of St Cadoc, our own much loved 16 th century Fox & Hounds Public House (a focal point of village life here), White chapel, Walterston Fawr farmhouse, The Amelia Trust farm and the fascinating Iron Age Hillfort, of which it is said that Cromwell used during the British civil war to bombard Penmark castle.

We are very proud of our unique business and look forward to having the opportunity to welcome you. We are very much an integral part of both the village and surrounding areas and will be delighted to help you plan your stay. We have up-to-date information on all the attractions and activities in the area.
